10 Things About Me

Not in the mood to really think up a post these days so will fill out this tag by CM 10 Things About Me others might not know. Enjoy...or

1. I was born in the elevator in the hospital...incidentally I HATE elevators. Will avoid if I can. This hate is tempered if my floor is above

2. Was considered having a higher than average intelligence when young...I skipped a grade of school and was going to skip another but my Mother hesitated. She didnt want me to be picked on by big kids...or at least bigger than the ones that already picked on me. My intelligence seemed to antagonize people...I dont know why. 20 years of forced inertia has pretty much kept all that intelligence under wraps...sigh.

3. I use to be fairly outgoing and was considered the class clown (dont laugh I was quite the funny girl) people tend to view me with caution and approach on high alert. I find very little funny anymore and I tolerate people less and less. Consequently I have few friends and no desire to make more for the most part.

4. I use to get massive ear aches and ear infections when young. I experienced both ear drums being blown out...consequently I dont hear very well. I tend to use that as an excuse not to hear people sometimes.

5. I wrote a short story in high school. My teacher stole it...I mean said he lost it. I happened to see it printed in a magazine a few years later after I had left home. He had changed it somewhat but I recognized it as mine

6. I generally read several books at once. I keep one in the car as well for when Im waiting in a shop etc.

7. I had a crush on a high school teacher...and said teacher overheard me say this to my friend one day. He managed to finish the year without running the other way every time he seen me...he was also my favorite teacher. I might do a post about him..ha ha.

8. I contemplate murder at least once a day.

9. There is very little in my life I feel satisfied about. If I could do it all again...I wouldnt know where to start. I have a list of people I am so angry at I cant sleep at night sometimes...and my name is at the top of that list.

10. I no longer feel religion has power in my least not the type of religion so many choose to follow. I feel adrift and alone....but thats ok for now.

I dont think I will tag anyone as I feel its putting an obligation on them they might not I will leave it for anyone that chooses to do so...let us know so we can check you out though.

Why am I reminded of your grandmother when reading this post? Careful!

'I have a list of people I am so angry at I cant sleep at night sometimes...'

Oh I can sooo relate there but I don't have myself on that list at all. Probably because I am the only one that I DO have control over and I don't do things to piss myself off (well, anymore, that is. LOL)

Don't give your power over to others by losing sleep over them. Now before I go to sleep I say a little prayer...God grant me the patience to accept that which cannot be changed, the courage to change that which can, and the wisdom to know where to hide the bodies of those that piss me off! Then I fall asleep dreaming of the different ways I can KILL the bastards!Ahh, such peaceful sleep!

Coolred--great post. Re: #8. Do what Simone de Beauvoir did. She wrote her first much acclaim short novel about it, L'invitee, or She came to stay (1943, about the high school student she brought home to Sartre. In the book she kills her--in some arcane OOPS left the gas stove leaking gass way0--in real life she excluded her from their lives.

The Queen--excellent comment! LOL :)

You and I have the same outlook on elevators. Well, I don't hate them, but they do look awfully tempting when the target is more than four floors away.

I was the class clown, too. I used it to hide my being one of the smartest kids in the class. And now all my humor revolves around dick jokes.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd start in the fifth grade, but only with the stipulation that I know then what I know now.

Queen....ach!!! are you telling me Im somewhat like the very person I had almost nothing to do with? Wheres Freud when you need him to do some "splaining"?

Chiara...shall I do like OJ and write a book after the fact...or keep it all in my

Mjenks...we think a lot alike. And I must say..dicks have got to be one of the funniest things God created...not to mention ugliest.

I enjoyed getting to know you a bit more by reading these 10 things. Neat that you were born in an elevator and don't like them now! :)

I'm sorry your teacher stole your story.

Hmmm, I can see where you were the class clown. Your wit comes through often in either your posts or comments on others' posts.

I did this tag last Wednesday, but mine isn't as interesting as yours.

Enjoyed it!

Hey Red,

Ok, I'm ditto on 2,4, and 6.

As to number 10, my heritage is Christian but I don't attend Church. I ponder much on the great unknowable, and find that for me at least, it is best pondered alone.

As to some of the other points--I don't think I was ever particularly funny but I was definately more outgoing when I was young. In later years I find I am happiest when I'm alone or just with my family and a very small numnber of friends.

I do love to write, prose fiction suits me best, but I haven't tried to publish. I guess I really am rather a loner aren't I?

As to the hates--I think I've passed beyond most of the hates by now, though there are still some people, mostly left behind in the past, dead or just no longer in my life, that even now can stir my old rages.

PS re your twitter--what dog? First we've heard about a dog.

Coolred--okay that's an option too, just make sure the gloves don't fit. I'm impressed you were able to read my typo-laden, sleep-deprived, should I caffeinate myself comment above.

You can't just tweet about arriving daughters and rubbing dogs without filling us in! Which daughter!? What dog!? Enquiring minds want to know!!

PS If it is a 1/2 dog 1/2 daughther chimera story I'm not sure I'm that enquiring! LOL :)

No Red, I'm not saying you ARE like your grandma but I can see how you could become like her if you hold all that anger in or allow yourself to remain powerless. You know what I mean?

Susanne...thanks for the wit comment. People tell me I still have quite a sharp wit...or sharp tongue as they call it.

Fat Too...Ive tried my hand at and then I churn out something Frost worthy..purely by accident Im sure.

Im like you...I prefer to ponder alone.

Chiara...I was able to read it simply because Im suffering sleep deprivation etc myself...not been a good week round here. So it was no

Oldest daughter came to visit for 3 weeks...I tweeted nonstop about Poodles recently came...about the same time as daughter. Jack and curly sheep looking things.

Queen...its not like I want to hold the anger in...its completely involuntary...if I could release it and be free of that burden...Id be a doing that post haste....sigh.

Chiara said...

For now, glad you had 3 weeks with the oldest daughter, glad the youngest daughter is doing better, congratulations to the new licensed driver (long may he drive safely), good canine mommy shaving those poodles! Are the poodles yours for a visit or are you rescuing them permanently from a hot hairy existence?

i got tagged already and came rushing to yours but someone beat me to it. ((eHUGS)) about a couple of your items. oh and can you figure out what this means? ((| ((|)) |))

Chiara...2 little black poodles. Been swapped owners several time now...I hope they are finally at home with me. I have conflicting info as to whether they are brother and sister or not...not sure how to find out since they've been handed back and forth so many times.

I shaved the hair off their faces and tails as it was very thick and so hot here...they were extremely considering doing the whole body. It will grow back by

Tutti...I have no idea what that symbol means...sorry. Im not too sauvy with symbol language. Thanks for coming over though.

I tend to have myself on my list of people I'm angry at these days, too. I also have found much disillusionment in the religion I tried to practice for the last 7 years, find more meaning in the one I grew up practicing.

Keep writing! You have a great way of telling your life stories and I'm sure you could be a published author!

Cindi...thanks for the comment and do come back again.

"I contemplate murder at least once a day".

Are you serious? That scares me. For you.

I know that sentence was written over 5 months ago, but I hope being back in the states you will seek the help you need. No one, no matter how abused, neglected or wounded by life's circumstances should have that sort of thought.

Good thoughts your way. Wow.

coolred38 said...

SkippyMom...better to merely "think" then to do...thinking clears my head and lets the anger pass...otherwise I bottle it up and eventually explode.

Theres nothing wrong with me other than the usual...the object of my lust for murder is still alive and getting on with his life...such as it is...I removed myself from his vicinity just so my thoughts would never actually go beyond the thinking stage.

I helped Im good.
